Professor Held joined the College of Law in 1981 as Associate Dean and was named Dean in 1983, a position he held until 2002. Under his leadership, the College of Law increased in size and stature, moved to the current location in Ontario, California, and prepared to attain American Bar Association provisional approval.
Before becoming a full-time legal educator, Professor Held was active in corporate and private practice. He has served on many boards and councils including the Pasadena-San Gabriel Valley Legal Services, the San Fernando Valley Legal Foundation, and the Law School Council of the California Committee of Bar Examiners.
