Professor Haneman joined the College of Law faculty in 2007.
For five years, Professor Haneman practiced in the area of corporate transactional law. She served as General Counsel in the financial services industry. Professor Haneman’s career demonstrates her passion for teaching law. From 2000 through 2005, Professor Haneman taught periodically at California Western School of Law (as an Adjunct Professor and/or Visiting Professor). In July 2005, she accepted a full-time Teaching Fellowship position with California Western. During her time at California Western, Professor Haneman taught Federal Income Taxation, Estate & Gift Taxation, Corporate Taxation, and Trusts & Estates.
In 2007-2008, the Student Bar Association named Professor Haneman as “Professor of the Year.” The previous academic year (2006-2007), Professor Haneman was named “Best Professor (Upper Division Courses)" by the Student Bar Association at California Western School of Law. For two consecutive years (2006 and 2007), Professor Haneman was also a semi-finalist in the Academic Category of “The Daily Transcript’s Top San Diego County Attorneys.”
Professor Haneman earned an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University – nationally recognized as the nation’s preeminent graduate tax law program. She graduated magna cum laude from California Western School of Law with a number of honors, scholarships, and awards (including five American Jurisprudence awards, the Miller, Monson & Peshel Scholarship in Taxation, the Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Achievement, the West Publishing Award for Academic Achievement, and California Western’s Law Review/International Law Journal). During law school, Professor Haneman was a judicial extern to the Honorable Rudi M. Brewster at the U.S. District Court in San Diego.
Professor Haneman is presently a member of the American Bar Association (Taxation Section), State Bar of California, the Orange County Bar Association and American MENSA. Her course offerings at La Verne include Federal Income Taxation, Estate & Gift Taxation, Corporate Taxation, and Wills & Trusts.
