"In Brief"

Our search to find a dean is over! On July 1, 2008, administrators, faculty, staff, and students will welcome Dean Allen K. Easley to the University of La Verne College of Law. Dean Easley comes to ULV with nearly 30 years of successful experience in legal education.

The Brief:

  • Dean Easley joined William Mitchell College of Law in 2004 to serve as president, dean, and professor of law. During his time at William Mitchell, Dean Easley raised the last $3 million of a $20 million capital campaign, he hired nine outstanding faculty members, and he led the College through a new strategic planning process, including realignment of its mission and vision.
  • He served as a member of the faculty at Washburn University School of Law for 25 years and as Associate Dean for 13 of those years.
  • More importantly, he has served on more than 15 site inspection teams over the past 14 years, including:
    • American Bar Association (ABA)-American Association of Law Schools (AALS) joint inspections
    • ABA inspections
    • ABA limited and full inspections of provisionally-approved schools
    • Special inspections for the ABA and the AALS
    • AALS membership inspections, and
    • ABA foreign summer program inspections.
  • Dean Easley earned his J.D. at Temple University School of Law, ranking 6th out of a graduating class of 286. He completed his LL.M. at Temple University School of Law, studying as a Law & Humanities Fellow in Legal Education.

Dean Easley is highly regarded for his strategic thinking and his success as a law school administrator. With his wealth of experience and his genuine interest in the future of the University of La Verne College of Law, Dean Easley is an excellent choice to guide our law school during this exciting time.
