UNIVERSITY OF LA VERNE COLLEGE OF LAW APPOINTS
TERESA B. KLINKNER AS ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF LAW
ONTARIO, CA (AUG. 23, 2002) Teresa Buchheit Klinkner
has been appointed assistant professor of law according to Kenneth
Held, dean of the University of La Verne College of Law in Ontario.
Klinkner was most recently a senior attorney with Richards, Watson
& Gershon in Los Angeles, where she focused on commercial
real estate and redevelopment law matters for city and agency
clients.
Prior to her work in Southern California, Klinkner was a staff
attorney with the Legal Aid Society, Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky.
She represented clients in housing and community development areas
and counseled nonprofit organizations on corporate matters. As
part of her 15 years of experience practicing law, Klinkner has
several years of teaching experience. Most recently, she was a
full-time visiting professor at Louis D. Brandeis School of Law
at the University of Louisville. She taught Property and Basic
Legal Skills courses, as well as Real Estate Transactions and
Land Use Planning.

of Law," said Dean Held. "Her experience in both law
practice and teaching will greatly benefit our students. We look
forward to her contributions to the continued growth of the College
of Law."
Klinkner earned her J.D. degree from Duke University School of
Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the State
Bar of California, and the Kentucky Bar Association, as well as
a member of CREW-LA, the Southern California Affordable Housing
Network and the Low Income Housing Coalition. Klinkner recently
was appointed to be the managing editor of the California Real
Property Journal, a publication of the Real Property Section of
the State Bar of California. Klinkner is a well-known real estate
law speaker, and has authored several articles for law firm related
newsletters addressing such issues as business, real estate and
environmental laws.
