Law School Campus Tours: How to Navigate Your Way to Full Disclosure

Ontario, Calif., July 14, 2008 – Prospective law students beware: The law school admissions process is daunting. Plenty of schools look great on paper, but are they really right for you?

At the University of La Verne College of Law, we know every law student is unique. We also know that the best way to learn about a law school is to schedule a visit. So, make an appointment with a law school you love, and take along our campus tour questions to learn as much as you can when you visit. Here’s a sampling:

What programs do you offer? Are dual-degree/part-time programs available?
What is your average class size?
What level of contact can I expect with your faculty?

Student Life
Describe your students. Are they competitive or cooperative?
How do you accommodate students with disabilities?

Campus Resources
Describe your law library.
Is Internet access/wireless available?

Location
How close is your airport access?
How safe is this area/campus?
Where is the closest hospital?
What does parking cost? How full is the lot?

Financial Aid
Describe your financial aid opportunities.
How many of your students currently receive financial aid?

Career Services
Describe your law school’s accreditations. Do they limit my job prospects upon graduation?
What is your job placement rate? the average starting salary for graduates?
Describe your alumni network.
