Professor Klein is Named University of La Verne’s Top Graduate Professor

Ontario, Calif., June 10, 2008University of La Verne (ULV) recognized the leap made this year by the College of Law’s Law Review when it honored Associate Professor Diane J. Klein as its 2007-2008 “Graduate Professor of the Year”. Following in the footsteps of Professor John Hultman, Professor Klein is the second professor in the history of the law school to receive the University’s top award for graduate teaching.

“For more than a year, Professor Klein has been unwavering in her dedication to re-structuring our Law Review,” said the law school’s interim dean, H. Randall Rubin. “In accordance with our plans for ABA approval, the University of La Verne Law Review has expanded to a two-volume format. Ours is also the first Law Review in California to join Science Commons’ Open Access Law Program, which promotes legal scholarship.”

In addition, ULV’s law students named Assistant Professor Victoria J. Haneman their 2007-2008 “Professor of the Year,” in the Student Bar Association’s recent nomination process. An NYU graduate with an LL.M. in Taxation, Professor Haneman joined the faculty at the College of Law in Fall 2007, quickly becoming a favorite for many students. Her course offerings include Federal Income Taxation, Estate & Gift Taxation, Corporate Taxation, and Wills & Trusts.

“Professor Haneman challenges her students but remains extremely accessible,” said law student Ryan Andrews. “She has an incredible wealth of knowledge and is very effective in conveying that knowledge to students at all levels of understanding.”
