University of La Verne College of Law Students Exceed
Average Pass Rate for California State Bar Exam
ONTARIO, CA (May 31, 2005) – The results from the February 2005 California Bar examination show that the pass rate for first-time test takers at the University of La Verne College of Law was 66.7 percent--a striking contrast to the first-time pass rate of 29.5 percent for other State Bar of California (Cal-Bar) accredited law schools.
“Small class size and personal instruction clearly make a difference,” said Randy Rubin, associate dean for the College of Law. “Our students are consistently testing higher than other Cal-Bar accredited law schools.”
Statistically, the pass rate for all first-time test takers averaged out to 54.4 percent. This includes all test takers including the American Bar Association (ABA) California schools, ABA out-of-state schools, and all Cal Bar accredited and unaccredited schools. For all test takers, including those who have taken the test multiple times, the state pass rate was 40 percent.
