RE: Annual Service Awards
At the University's Annual Service Awards ceremony today, several
of our employees were recognized.
Dean McVay was named Adjunct Professor of the Year for Graduate
Programs. Provost McDowell stated that Professor McVay began with
us in 1997 teaching Appellate Advocacy in the evening. In 1999,
he began teaching both the day and evening sections. In 2000,
he developed a course in appellate advocacy called "Honors
Moot Court."
Professor McVay led our first travel team into statewide competition
in 1999. That team reached the semi-final rounds of 8. Since then,
ULV College of Law teams have won numerous national awards, including
several for best brief and best oralist. Through Professor McVay's
work, the Moot Court program at the College of Law has brought
recognition to the law school and the University. This University-wide
salute is extremely well-deserved.
Also recognized were Professor Ashley Lipson for being promoted
from Assistant to Associate Professor and Professors Susan Exon
and Sandra Tozzini and Campus Safety Officer Nadia Velasquez for
their five years of service to the University of La Verne.
Please join me in extending warm Congratulations to them all.
The University of La Verne College of Law was provisionally approved by the American Bar Association on February 13, 2006.
