Dr. Sarah Weddington Signs Her Book, “A Question of Choice,”
at the University of La Verne College of Law
Ontario, Calif-- April 20, 2005-- Dr. Sarah Weddington signs her book, "A Question of Choice," before her speech at the University of La Verne College of Law yesterday. Weddington, the featured “Dean’s Distinguished Speaker” at the law school, spoke on “Roe vs. Wade: Past, Present and Future”. Weddington first argued the case in 1971 at age 26. She won the case in 1973. “If someone told me then, ‘You will still be talking about this 32 years later,’ I would have been very surprised,” she said. The controversial issue has had its supporters and detractors, but there has been greater interest in it recently because the ruling now possibly is in danger of being overturned, Weddington said.
