La Verne Law to Host United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for
Rwanda Prosecutor, the Honorable Hassan B. Jallow

Who:
The Honorable Hassan B. Jallow, the United Nations-appointed Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) will speak at the University of La Verne College of Law in Ontario, California, April 14, 2009. Justice Jallow will lecture on the trials of persons accused of crimes in the Rwanda Genocide. The talk will be the first of the school’s Distinguished Jurist-in-Residence Lectures Series.

In 1998, The United Nations Secretary General appointed Justice Jallow to serve as an international legal expert and to carry out a judicial evaluation of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. He served in the same capacity for the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia.

What:
The University of La Verne College of Law, Inland Southern California’s only American Bar Association-approved law school, presents its first lecture in its Jurist-in-Residence Lecture Series. The series is part of the school’s initiative to nurture and showcase intellectual capital.

United States District Judge Stephen G. Larson of the Central District of California is the Distinguished Jurist-in-Residence at La Verne Law.
