For Immediate Release Contact: Late Dean’s Vision Continues with Release of Expanded Alumni Magazine Ontario, Calif., March 7, 2008 – To keep alums better informed about news and events at Inland Southern California’s only ABA-approved law school, the University of La Verne College of Law unveiled its first expanded volume of Inter Alia this week. The semi-annual magazine is distributed to approximately 1,500 alumni and key supporters of the law school by its Career Services and Alumni Relations Office. “In his final year at ULV College of Law, Dean Dunn was intent on expanding Inter Alia,” said Abbie Adams-Yaffe, the law school’s assistant dean of career services and alumni relations. “This project has been five months in the making, and we are thrilled at the results.” Established as ULV College of Law’s primary communication for alumni, Inter Alia keeps graduates connected by publishing a news section detailing alumni appointments, promotions, community service, awards and achievements, and family milestones (births, marriages and deaths). The magazine also includes an “Alumni Interests” column, which describes the unique hobbies ULV’s alums pursue outside the practice of law. A tribute to Judge Paul W. Egly (Retired), the law school’s founding dean, headlines the Fall/Winter 2007 edition of Inter Alia. The magazine also profiles prominent alumni and the law school’s clinical programs. The remaining content includes information about speakers and events held at the law school as well as several columns:
To develop the new version of Inter Alia, Adams-Yaffe worked very closely with Ontario-based Wilkin Guge Marketing, the law school’s marketing agency, to fine-tune the publication’s design and develop a layout that would be consistent with the law school’s brand and existing materials. “At ULV College of Law, we are known for the personalized attention we provide to our law students to help them succeed,” said Adams-Yaffe. “That personal focus doesn’t stop when a student graduates. It was important to communicate that in the magazine’s new format.” In addition to providing news about the College of Law’s alumni, Adams-Yaffe compiled information about the law school’s faculty, staff and students for inclusion in the magazine. “The Office of Career Services and Alumni Relations works with a variety of employers, and it is our hope that Inter Alia provides them with useful information,” said Adams-Yaffe.
