La Verne Law Adjunct Professor, Robert Rose, is Named Top Attorney by California Super Lawyers

Ontario, Calif., February 17, 2009 – University of La Verne College of Law Adjunct Professor Robert J. Rose has been named by California Super Lawyers magazine as one of the top attorneys in California for 2009. Only five percent of the lawyers in the state are named by Super Lawyers.

"Robert is an expert in patent prosecution, intellectual property and antitrust litigation," said La Verne Law Dean Allen K. Easley. "He is a valuable member of our staff and this Super Lawyer designation is richly deserved."

Rose currently serves as the Managing Director of Sheldon Mak Rose & Anderson PC, an Intellectual Property law firm in Pasadena. The selections for Super Lawyers are made by Law & Politics, a division of Key Professional Media, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minn. Each year, Law & Politics undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by Law & Politics’ attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check.

Rose’s technical background is in physics and in 2006 he earned a Master’s degree in Imaging Science. Rose has experience in patent litigation in intra-ocular lenses, industrial lighting and illumination, computer graphics and digital warping, flight simulators, motion platforms, programmable logic controllers and amusement rides.

"I am grateful for this recognition, and for being a part of the College of Law," Rose said. "Intellectual property is the currency of the 21st century, and the University of La Verne is leading the way in preparing our students to be leaders in this all important area."
