For Immediate Release Contact: Memorial Golf Tournament for Don Dunn Ontario, Calif., January 21, 2009 – The University of La Verne College of Law invites the public to join the school for the Don Dunn Memorial Golf Tournament March 23, 2009 at the beautiful Vellano Country Club in Chino Hills. The event will include a four-person scramble, box lunch and an awards banquet and dinner. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Don Dunn Memorial Fund, and the Society of Legal Studies and Business and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. The two societies are co-sponsoring the tournament. Featured events include “closest to the pin,” “long drive,” “closest to the pin in two shots,” “longest putt,” and “player gifts.” “Come join us in this event and help support a deserving cause and honor Donald Dun on behalf of our students,” said Dean Allen K. Easley. Donald Dunn joined the University of La Verne as dean and professor of law at the College of Law in 2003. While at La Verne Law, Dunn led the California bar-accredited law school through the difficult process of applying for national accreditation. The attempt was successful and on February 13, 2006, the American Bar Association granted ULV College of Law provisional ABA approval, allowing its graduates to begin receiving all the same rights and privileges as graduates from fully ABA-approved law schools.
