A partner in the Claremont, California, firm of Tuckerman & Thompson, Mr. Thompson is considered to be one of the premier family law attorneys in Southern California. He is a Certified Family Law Specialist and, in 1993, was invited to join the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, recognized as the preeminent family law association in the United States.
Widely recognized by both bench and bar as an outstanding litigator, Mr. Thompson is also known for his civility and courtroom demeanor. In more than 20 years as an attorney, he has handled a wide variety of complex cases. In June 2001, Mr. Thompson argued and won a landmark case (Montenegro v. Diaz) before the California Supreme Court confirming that the trial court had properly awarded custody based on the best interests of the child.
Mr. Thompson is a frequent presenter in continuing legal education programs, and he serves as a Judge Pro Tem.
