The American Bar Association granted provisional approval to the University of La Verne College of Law on February 13, 2006, making it the only ABA-approved law school in Inland Southern California.
Provisional approval precedes full ABA approval. It is the policy of the ABA that students enrolled in a provisionally-approved school are entitled to all the rights and privileges to which students at fully approved schools are entitled. A law school must remain in provisional status for a minimum of two years before becoming eligible for consideration for full approval.
The University of La Verne is approved by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Among the other memberships maintained by the University are those in the American Council on Education, Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities, and Independent Colleges of Southern California.
